Bolt 5/6 to break 200m record

Betting Press Staff - 17 Aug 2009

Following Usain Bolt’s record–breaking 100m win in Berlin on Sunday, Sky Bet is offering 5/6 that the Jamaican superstar also breaks the world record in the 200m on Thursday.

The triple Olympic champion smashed Michael Johnson's long-standing 200m record with a time of 19.30 at last year's Olympics and is 12/1 with Sky Bet to run sub 19 seconds in Berlin.

Sky Bet’s athletics compiler, Ben Wright, said: “The 200m record is definitely within Bolt’s grasp. We think that he will have to run flat out for the full 200m in absolutely perfect conditions to bag the record.

“Yesterday we were supremely confident that he would destroy the 100m record, but the 200m one is surely a tougher challenge for the Jamaican. What is certain though, is that you cannot doubt the super human powers of the Lightning Bolt!”
