England odds-on for series win in South Africa

Betting Press Staff - 31 Dec 2009

England will go into next week's third Test against South Africa as 8/11 favourites with Boylesports to win the four-match series after thrashing their hosts in Durban.

Following a drawn opening clash in Centurion, the Three Lions prevailed by an innings and 98 runs in game two to go 1-0 with two to play.

Punters can now get 5/1 with Boylesports for the Proteas to hit back and come out on top overall, while a drawn series is available at 13/5 with totesport.

After taking nine wickets in a man-of-the match display, Graeme Swann is 4/7 at best with Boylesports to be England's leading bowler.

That impressive haul took his tally to 14, five clear of nearest rival Stuart Broad and six ahead of James Anderson, who are both 5/1 with totesport.

Ian Bell is 6/1 at best with sportingbet to be the Three Lions' leading batsman after a superb 140 in Durban silenced the critics calling for him to be dropped.

That put him on 147 overall, two ahead of Alastair Cook, who also returned to form in the second Test with 118 and is 5/1 at Stan James for this market.

However, still leading the way on 167 and 152 are Paul Collingwood and Kevin Pietersen and they are 7/2 and 5/2 respectively with totesport.
