Kevin Pietersen to have last laugh on Proteas?

We've all heard the joke about where England's players will be staying on the tour of South Africa - the answer being with their parents!

However, Stan James believe the Three Lions' batsmen may have the last laugh against their 'compatriots' in the upcoming ODI series.

The firm are offering odds on which of eight leading South Africa-born batsmen will score the most runs over the five limited overs matches and make Kevin Pietersen 4/1 favourite.

Jacques Kallis and Graeme Smith are 9/2 to give the home side victory in this market, with fellow Proteas AB De Villiers and JP Duminy  both 11/2 to come out on top.

Andrew strauss is also available at that price, while England's latest recruit Jonathan Trott is 7/1 and Matt Prior 16/1.

Pietersen and Smith, in particular, have enjoyed a healthy rivalry in the past and Blue Square are betting on which one fares best, with the Three Lions star Evens and the Proteas skipper a slight favourite at 4/5.

KP hit three ODI centuries on his first return home in 2005 and is a tempting 13/2 to score a ton this time, with Smith 6/1 to achieve the same feat.

It is 3/1 with Blue Square for Smith to be out for a duck in any of the five matches and 7/2 for Pietersen to be sent back to the pavilion without scoring.
