Last year, Raymond van Barneveld threw the competition’s first-ever nine dart finish on his way to beating Jelle Klaasen and Sky Bet go 2/1 for another nine-darter this year.
The Harrogate-based firm is also offering odds on how many 180’s there will be and go 6/4 for over 520, 7/4 for between 500 and 520 and 15/8 for under 500.
Phil Taylor is Sky Bet’s 1/3 favourite to win his fifteenth world darts title and it’s 25/1 that he wins the title without dropping a set. Taylor takes on Colin Monk in the first round and the ‘Mad Monk’ is 16/1 for a shock victory. 2/5 is on offer for Taylor to whitewash Monk.
Sky Bet’s darts betting spokesman Craig Ibbotson said: “Taylor is now 1/3 for another world title. After a year that has seen him win every major ranking tournament, it is hard to see who can stop him. Wade, Barneveld and Anderson look the most likely to topple the darting legend but with all three falling in the opposite half of the draw to Taylor, it does look an easy path to the final for ‘The Power’.”
Other highlights of the first round include the match between world number five Terry Jenkins and British-born Australian darts player Paul Nicholson. It’s 4/6 for the Bull to progress, with Nicholson 11/10.
Leading qualifier Gary Anderson is 2/9 with Sky Bet to overcome Jamie Caven (3/1), who recorded his first PDC title earlier this year and Colin Osborne, who defeated Taylor to win the Championship League Darts this year, is 6/5 to progress past the Australian number one Simon Whitlock (8/13).
