The inquest into Danyl Johnson's shock drop into last week's bottom two is bound to have been long and hard at X Factor towers but bookmakers believe he will avoid another fright on Halloween night.
Simon Cowell described the crooner's narrow escape as a 'joke' but certainly wasn't laughing at having to see his star act sing for survival.
However, it is expected to prove a temporary blip and Cowell can take heart from the fact that Danyl is 7/2 with Betfred to suffer the same fate following Live Show 4.
Rachel Adedeji enjoyed a welcome reprieve last time but she is a hot favourite at 4/7 to be back in the drop zone - as she was for the first two weeks of this year's contest.
Lloyd Daniels is next best at 13/8 to be one of the duo put in jeopardy by the public vote, with John and Edward 5/2 and Jamie Archer 3/1.
Ladbrokes are offering odds on the bottom two combination and go 9/4 Rachel and Lloyd, 11/4 for the twins to join Miss Adedeji in the Sunday night sing-off and 7/2 it is the Grimes brothers and Lloyd who have to battle it out for survival.
Rachel is the 7/4 market leader with Betfred over who will be eliminated next, with Lloyd quoted at 10/3 and John and Edward 4/1.
But before Cowell and Danyl get too cocky again, as Cheryl Cole put it early on the contest, he has been backed from 20/1 to 10/1 with Coral to go next!
