Can Leeds United FC turn the tables on one of their bogey teams?
To say that Millwall FC have the Indian sign over Leeds is an understatement. Although the west Yorkshire side have been faltering in 2010, it was the Lions that were the first team to beat them this season and one should also note that Kenny Jackett’s team knocked United out of the League 1 play-offs last term.
They will arrive at Elland Road on Monday night with their tails up and can be backed at 7/2 (SkyBet) to win this televised clash. It’s a big price when you consider how much Simon Grayson’s team have been wobbling of late, winning just three of their last thirteen matches.
Indeed, Leeds have never got back on track since they famously won at Old Trafford in the FA Cup two months ago, although the Whites are a 10/11 chance (bet365) if you think they can cement that second automatic promotion spot behind Norwich.
The visitors will certainly have their hands full with Jermaine Beckford, who has managed 27 goals this season and can be backed at 9/2 (Coral) to break the deadlock. The striker was sent off against the same opponents last season and will have a point to prove.
Millwall come into this match having won four of their past five games, with Saturday’s 4-0 win against Charlton especially impressive. They might be good enough to bag a draw (5/2 SkyBet) from this televised encounter, especially as they drew at Elland Road in the play-offs last May.
Steve Morison has five goals in his past three matches and looks interesting at 15/2 (Paddy Power) to score first (or last!) on Monday night. His brace against the Addicks was especially well taken, although one thing guaranteed is a feisty game and William Hill’s 10/3 that there’s a red card could be a bet worth having!
