Sky Bet have reacted to the first shows in early testing by trimming Ferrari pair Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa in their 2010 Drivers’ Championship betting, after a positive test from the Maranello outfit.
Alonso, who set the fastest time of the week in Valencia, has now been chopped into 11/4 favourite ahead of the season, while the notoriously frank Michael Schumacher has spoken of lower expectations early in the season, prompting the Harrogate-based firm to push the German out to 4/1 from 7/2.
Others to impress have been BMW Sauber pair Kumai Kobayashi and Pedro de la Rosa, and they have been cut to 40/1 and 50/1 respectively from 100/1 each, while the Renault drive that Robert Kubica was so desperate to land looks less likely to pose a significant threat, and the highly rated Pole is now 50/1 in the title betting.
