MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) at the minute is the fastest growing sport in the world.
Sky Bet offers excellent online betting opportunities on MMA. There are numerous organisations running MMA/UFC events including Pride, WEC (World Extreme Cage-Fighting) and Affliction. But the biggest Organisation within MMA is the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). With it being a new sport we use the UFC in the title as this is the most recognised organisation so when looking to bet on MMA, the event class on Sky Bet’s online betting site is MMA/UFC.
MMA/UFC fights are decided by three five minute rounds for non World Title fights and five-five minute rounds for Word Title fights. Like boxing there are weight divisions; Lightweight, Welterweight, Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight. But unlike Boxing there is one belt and one champion only. At the minute more fans are turning to MMA than boxing with the UFC leading the way in America with their pay per view figures dwarfing boxing and the other MMA events.
Each MMA/UFC event has a number of fights from ten to fifteen. Sky Bet offer MMA/UFC betting on all the fights a number of weeks in advance. Betting on MMA/UFC with Sky Bet proffers a wealth of different markets. On each fight we offer Fight Outright (who will win the fight?) but on the main fights on the card and World Title Fights we offer Method of Victory (how will the fight be won Knock out Submission or Points), Round Betting (which round will the fight be won in) and Fight Outcome (either fighter to win in rounds 1-3/1-5 or by a points decision).
For MMA/UFC Betting Sky bet are market leaders, usually being first up with our prices and no other bookmaker offers the extra markets like we do. In the future this sport is only going to get bigger and bigger and MMA/UFC betting will grow with it.
