Underneath Couture vs Vera at the top of the UFC 105 card this Saturday night, the UK's own Michael Bisping takes on PRIDE veteran Denis Kang with the Brit looking to bounce back from his defeat to Dan Henderson last time out.
The 30-year-old Bisping was destroyed by Henderson at UFC 100, losing via KO in round two.
That result has seen Kang installed as favourite to win in Manchester, with Bisping available at time of writing at 11/10 with Boylesports.
Although 'The Count' may have lost the momentum he had built as a result of his defeat to Henderson, he faces an opponent in Kang who has failed to live up to the hype since entering the UFC.
Although he won last time out at UFC 97 with a unanimous decision over Xavier Foupa-Pokam, 32-year-old Kang has not produced the kind of performances that helped him to make a name for himself while fighting on PRIDE's Bushido shows.
It is his track record that makes him the odds-on favourite to beat Bisping, with the Canadian a best price 10/11 with William Hill at time of writing.
Kang steps into the Octagon in Manchester having won just three of his last six fights, with all three wins coming against opponents who many would label inferior compared to the BJJ expert.
Of those six fights, Kang's three defeats came against at worst, decent opponents. In Bisping, Kang again faces a decent opponent.
While Kang has a solid all-round game, Bisping is arguably the more well-rounded fighter and has more than enough ability to cope with Kang's superior submission game.
Right now, the odds against available on a Bisping win looks good value. He's keen to bounce back from the KO loss to Henderson and will be eager to perform well in front of his own fans.
