Sydney Roosters v Wests Tigers - NRL preview and betting tips

Betting Press Staff - 20 Mar 2010

The Roosters and the Tigers were two of the most impressive performers of the opening round of the competition and should provide their supporters with an entertainment spectacular when they lock horns at the Sydney Football Stadium this Sunday.

The Roosters ran hot for 80 minutes against South Sydney while the Tigers left their run until the second half against Manly, storming home from a 20-4 deficit to win 26-22. The rejuvenated Roosters appeared especially lean and hungry at ANZ Stadium with a trimmed down Nate Myles typical of the new-look outfit.

Fullback Todd Carney could cause problems for the Tigers’ defence, especially if he can reproduce his form from last Sunday. His combination with halfback Mitchell Pearce looks like developing into a potent attacking weapon for the Roosters.

The Tigers were guilty of losing concentration before halftime against Manly and they could pay a hefty price if they allow the Roosters the same sort of leeway.

Look to a Roosters try as First Scoring Play ($2.20 at Luxbet) and a Roosters victory by 1-12 points ($3.75).

For First Tryscorer consider Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Todd Carney or Phil Graham for the Roosters or Tim Moltzen, Blake Ayshford or Chris Lawrence for the Tigers.
