Harlequins v Huddersfield Giants - Super League preview and betting tips

Betting Press Staff - 20 Mar 2010

Harlequins will be looking for a huge response following last week’s defeat against Salford City Reds as they look to move off the bottom of the Super League table.

Quins head coach Brian McDermott has opted to make just one change from the team that lost last week as they entertain Huddersfield Giants.

Prop forward Karl Temata is on the sidelines with a hamstring problem, so Luke May has been brought in as cover.

The Giants welcome back full-back and captain Brett Hodgson, who has been missing for three weeks with ankle ligament damage, for the trip to Twickenham Stoop.

Hodgson and prop forward Adam Walker come in for Paul Whatuira and injured centre Michael Lawrence.

The last time these two met was in July when Huddersfield ran out 32-16 winners with Hodgson crossing over for two of their five tries.

Victor Chandler, Blue Square and 888Sport have the Quins available at 9/2 to record an unlikely victory, while the Giants can be backed at 1/6 with Skybet, BetFred and Coral. The draw is on offer at 25/1.

It is difficult to see past a Huddersfield victory and they can be backed at 6/1 with BetFred to see off the Quins with a margin of 16-20 points, while the home side are 9/2 with Ladbrokes for a 1-10 points win.
