Rugby Six Nations betting - Scotland hit by double Six Nations blow

Betting Press Staff - 2 Feb 2010

Scotland (2/1 with Betfred to win their opener) will be without flanker Alasdair Strokosch and full-back Rory Lamont through injury for this weekend’s Six Nations clash against France.

Gloucester ace Strokosch is back with his club to receive treatment for an ankle injury, while Toulon’s Lamont also needs further rehabilitation on his ankle problem.

Strokosch featured in all of the autumn internationals and his absence will be a big blow to the Scotland (11/8 to finish bottom of the Six Nations) pack, as they prepare to meet at Murrayfield on Sunday.

Kelly Brown is expected to fill the void at number six, with Chris Paterson likely to start at full-back in the absence of Lamont.

Meanwhile, the home side have seen forward Sebastien Chabal withdraw from the squad because of a back injury.
